History

 

Botevgrad youth brass orchestra was founded in 1964 and established itself as one of the town's symbols. In 2004 Konstantin Gajdarski became the orchestra's conductor, and that same year a majorette squad under the leadership of Ivanka Hristova was added. Both are invariably present at festivals in Botevgrad and elsewhere in the country, as well as abroad. Both bands charm the audiences with their stage presence, youthful enthusiasm and a varied repertoire that includes modern music, folklore, pop and many other genres.

  • In 2004 Botevgrad youth brass orchestra won second prize at the international festival in Bösel, Germany.

  • In 2005 at the same festival the orchestra won first place for best brass band and first place for best national work performance, the majorette squad won second prize, and conductor Konstantin Gajdarski received gold medal for best brass band conductor.

  • In 2006 the orchestra performed at the international carnival in Mazamet, France.

  • In 2007 Botevgrad youth brass orchestra and majorettes took part in the festival dedicated to Anne Magdalene in Castellon, Spain.
